Choose and Book is set to bring real improvements for patients. And real benefits for clinicians. It provides a more flexible and responsive health service that fits around people’s individual lives. At least 89% of PCTs have gone live and are booking, with over 90% of GPs registered to the Choose and Book service. As booking volume increases, the challenge ahead will be to mainstream and sustain Choose and Book as a robust system. It must also be successfully integrated with other system reforms such as Choice and Practice Based Commissioning.

Embedding Choose and Book into general practices remains the highest priority. This event is part of a series held by the Health Service Journal and will update delegates on the latest developments. Share the experiences of those PCTs that have successfully engaged general practices in the process and are moving forward to realise the full potential of the system. Moreover, as bookings increase, tools must be in place to ensure effective slot management and minimise wastage.

Addressing the most critical issues, this conference will provide essential information to help you:

  • Prepare and engage clinicians for change
  • Integrate Choose and Book with Choice
  • Link clinical assessment with Choose and Book
  • Successfully monitor and manage capacity
  • Ensure the operation of a truly robust system
  • Look to future service planning - linking Choose and Book with the 18 week delivery target
Debate, share and exchange ideas
Our panel discussion and Q&A sessions will provide an excellent opportunity for delegates to trade experiences and closely question experts on specific issues. With plenty of time for networking, this is your chance to exchange ideas and benchmark with colleagues.

Who should attend: This conference is essential for all involved in the practical implementation of Choose and Book.
